HOW TO CORRECTLY PUT ON A PAIR OF QUAD ROLLER SKATES.

If you are a beginner roller skater and need to know how to lace up your roller boots securely. I have created a short step by step guide for those wishing to participate in RollerFitness skating classes.

Step 1

Place the left and right skates to match the left and right feet.

Step 2.

Prepare the roller skates one at a time by loosening the laces and pulling the tongue outwards creating space and a larger area to slide the foot into.

Step 3

Pick up the right skate and place it on the inside of the right foot, raise the right leg without leaning backwards and push the foot into the boot. Toes leading.

Step 4

As the foot is inserted ensure that the toes do not push forwards too far touching the end of the boot, creating a gap at the heel.

Step 5

Adjust the socks to take away any uncomfortable double layered material.

Step 6

Pull the tongue up and backwards to rest neatly on the top of the foot and into the lower shin.

Step 7

Starting with the bottom lace hook your fingers underneath the lace and pull it tighter. Work your way up the roller skate tightening every crossover of lace. Make sure that the laces cross over and push through the eyelets rather than under and through.

Step 8

Always tighten from the bottom upwards right to the top, on some roller boots when you get to the ankle you will reach hooks.

* Please note: hooks can bend with too much tension.

Step 9

Rather than taking the lace under the hook, take the lace up over the hook and around, up, over around, up, over around, until you reach the top of the boot. Make sure the laces do not twist.

Step 10

Fasten and secure with a double bow.

Step 11

Make sure that the laces are securely fastened and not hanging down so that they can interfere with the wheels or axles of the roller skate.
